Merck Electronics

Leading up to the summer of 2021, the CTO Office of Merck Electronics asked us to design and host a 3-day conference for their top researchers across the globe. Through this event, they wanted to inspire and energise the people who are essential to their future business success. Also, they wanted to lay the foundations for a cross-continent cross-division community of advanced research.

With our personal history in advanced electronics research, we thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity. We prepared extensively based on the needs we gathered from interviews with the CTO office and several invitees. We attracted speakers and helped them craft sessions tailored to the participants’ needs.

We knew that three days of online workshops would be a challenge, especially with people attending from all over the world. Building on our extensive experience in providing impactful and energetic workshops, and using the - Metaverse avant-la-lettre - Gather platform, we are proud to say Mission Accomplished! Even at 3.30 am, people were highly engaged and having serious fun.

At the end of the conference, all participants presented their views on the future of R&D at Merck Electronics in small cross-functional groups with science-fiction short stories. The entire executive team was present and pleasantly surprised with the outcome of just 3 days of online workshops.
