From frameworks and role descriptions to sustainable behaviour change.

Q1 - Q2 2022

To support their division-wide agile transformation, the management asked us to convey the essential agile behaviours and skills to the entire staff. In less than three months, we provided over 70 half-day online workshops to employees at all levels of the organisation.

The uncomfortable truth of agile is that most agile change programmes at scale struggle to deliver. The most important cause lies in a lacking understanding of what agile really implies and the non-conventional reasoning it requires. If you want your organisation to be able to out-adapt the competition and accelerate sustainably, you need everyone on the team to have a strong foundation and a mindset required to make that happen.

So, we skipped the typical agile framework introductions and awkward role-playing. Instead, we encouraged the participants to experiment with attitudes and practice skills using their real-life challenges:

  • recognising unknowns and dealing with uncertain factors,

  • thinking and acting from a customer perspective, and

  • embedding structural learning into their daily practices

Despite the mandatory nature, the challenges of online workshops and the ambitious topics, we enjoyed a very high degree of participation and received an overall rating between 4.1/5 and 5/5 on our feedback surveys.
